Chickpeas are a gluten-free legume which means they are considered both a vegetable and protein food.  When cooked with our proprietary process, the chickpeas retain their high nutritional value and keep a neutral taste that won’t compete with other ingredients.   We don’t add anything to the chickpeas before, during or after cooking.
